[VOTING] Funding Proposal for Arbiusdata.io by Weboasis (AP-F-2)

Abstract

This proposal seeks funding for the development and maintenance of the Arbius Data website by Weboasis, a team dedicated to providing detailed analytics and insights into the Arbius network. Arbiusdata.io will serve as a central hub for information and resources.

Motivation

Arbius Data will provide a user-friendly platform that consolidates key data points, documentation, and insights, fostering a better understanding of the ecosystem and supporting the growth of the Arbius community. Weboasis has been actively contributing to the Arbius ecosystem, including assisting Cody with the UI development of the Liquid Staking dApp.

Key Goals

  • Develop a multi-page stats website with dedicated pages for analytics, documentation, staking lists, validator/miners’ lists, and a wiki-style directory.
  • Incorporate additional pages such as blockchain statistics, developer resources, and API access to core data.
  • Present data in a user-friendly manner, catering to both new and experienced users.
  • Continuously update and improve the website based on community feedback.
  • Promote the Arbius ecosystem by providing API access to key data points.
  • Host the website on Netlify servers for optimal performance and reliability.

Execution

  1. Design and develop the Arbius Data website with dedicated pages for various aspects of the Arbius network, including:
  • Homepage with an overview of key statistics and navigation to other pages
  • Analytics page with detailed block network metrics and visualizations
  • Staking and validator lists with information on active participants
  • Wiki-style directory of Arbius dApps and resources
  • Set up hosting on Netlify servers for optimal performance and scalability.
  1. Implement additional pages including blockchain statistics, developer resources, and free API access.
  2. Launch the complete website and gather user feedback for improvements.
  3. Provide ongoing maintenance and support, ensuring content remains up-to-date.
  4. Index tasks, solutions, and claims using a dedicated subgraph/subquid index to efficiently handle and present all of the data accurately.

Risks and Mitigations

  • Ensure data accuracy through robust data collection and verification processes.
  • Implement strong security measures to protect the website and its users.
  • Design the website to handle increased traffic and data as the Arbius network grows.
  • Actively seek community feedback to ensure the website remains relevant and useful.

Timeline

Month 1:

  • Further develop website structure.
  • Integrate model analytics, documentation, and resource pages.
  • Implement wiki-style directory.
  • Set up hosting on Netlify servers.
  • Conduct testing and launch the initial version.

Month 2:

  • Implement additional pages: blockchain statistics, developer resources, free API access.
  • Integrate a private Subsquid for indexing of tasks, solutions, and claims.
  • Enhance staking features: Introduce advanced calculators and performance metrics.
  • Introduce advanced data visualisation tools: Improve user interaction and data presentation.
  • Provide ongoing maintenance, updates, and enhancements based on community feedback.

Overall Cost and Vesting

The total cost for the development and maintenance of the website for one year is estimated at 180 AIUS. This includes:

  • Main website structure and key pages development.
  • Analytics, documentation, and resource pages integration.
  • Wiki-style directory development.
  • Blockchain statistics, developer resources, free API access.
  • Indexing solution for tasks, solutions, and claims.
  • Maintenance, updates and hosting (1 year).

To safeguard the DAO’s investment and ensure the work is reviewed and accounted for, we propose a linear vesting period of 12 months.

Community feedback and support will be greatly appreciated throughout the development process to help shape the website and ensure it meets the needs of the Arbius community.

Conclusion

By funding the Arbius Data platform, the Arbius DAO will support a valuable resource that benefits the entire community. Weboasis, with its active involvement in the Arbius ecosystem, is committed to delivering a comprehensive, user-friendly, and community-driven platform. The proposed features and vesting period ensure the DAO’s investment is well-justified and the work is delivered to the satisfaction of the community.

Hi everyone,

Thank you for voting and sharing your concerns about our DAO proposal. I’ve been actively participating in this community for over a month, gathering feedback and suggestions, so your reservations were unexpected but taken seriously.

  1. Roadmap Concerns: I initially kept the roadmap brief as recommended by team, in order to delivery it in under 2 months. However, based on recent community suggestions, I’ve expanded it to include new features to implement swiftly.

  2. Pricing: I understand concerns about the cost. When the vote began, our pricing was competitive when the token price was around 75, but market fluctuations are beyond our control. My team is small, we take pride in our work and the costs of UX design, development, maintenance, and updates do add up over a year. I hope our current asking price is appropriate with the latest additions made to our roadmap.

  3. Long-term Value: Like Taostats has on Tao, ArbiusData aims to serve as a dynamic resource for Arbius, enhancing the community’s access to key metrics for both user and miner and any other future developers building with our APIs. The value we add will grow as Arbius expands, ensuring we deliver lasting benefits.

I’m here to work through these issues with you. Let’s continue this conversation to refine our approach and deliver something that truly benefits us all. We hope you will be pleased with the new roadmap.

Roadmap V2:

Month 1 (April-May 2024):

  • Launched initial version optimized for both mobile and desktop, with server hosting.
  • Integrated analytics, documentation, and resource pages.
  • Deployed a ‘Tasks Activity’ table with search functionality, displaying the latest 80 tasks. We will be showing more tasks via the Subsquid index without affecting page performance.
  • Implemented a ‘Top Solutions Submitters’ table to rank the top miners.
  • Added a new metric for tracking average solutions per minute.
  • Launched ‘Arbius Tokenomics’ and ‘Devlog’ pages.
  • Introduced new pages for ‘Contestations’ and ‘Transfers & Accounts’.
  • Implemented the site as a Progressive Web App (PWA), enabling easy installation from browsers on iOS and Android devices.

Month 2:

  • Introduce veAUIS tokenomics and update our metrics accordingly.
  • Integrate a private Subsquid for indexing tasks, solutions, and claims.
  • Enhance staking features with advanced calculators and performance metrics.
  • Implement a wiki-style directory for better information dissemination.
  • Set up a model page to display detailed analytics and information.
  • Add a chart to track ‘Nova Gas Usage’, displaying historical and current levels.
  • Introduce a chart to visualize ‘Task Rewards’ historically.

Month 3:

  • Implement free ArbiusData API access for accessing models, miner, and price stats.
  • Add a ‘Model Integration’ page for users interested in setting up an AI model on the Arbius network, designed to require minimal technical background.
  • Display images generated by miners.

Months 4-12:

  • Provide ongoing support to continuously integrate and update the platform with the latest statistics, ensuring accurate reflection of developments within the ever-expanding Arbius network.

Due to the current pause in emissions and mining until Q3 in preparation for the V4 release, we have decided to align our development timeline accordingly. We will resume our development efforts once V4 is released, ensuring our work is fully compatible with the latest updates. We appreciate your patience and look forward to sharing our progress once development resumes.
